FindStitch Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how FindStitch handles information when you use the FindStitch iOS app, the FindStitch account and points service, and the FindStitch chart store.
FindStitch is operated by the individual developer identified as the seller or provider for FindStitch on Apple's App Store. You can contact FindStitch at [email protected].
FindStitch is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 or from children under the age at which consent is required in their jurisdiction.
1.Summary
FindStitch is designed primarily as an on-device PDF pattern tracking tool.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use advertising tracking. We do not track you across third-party apps or websites for advertising purposes. We do not use third-party analytics tools. We do not upload the PDFs that you import into FindStitch to FindStitch servers.
Some features require network services, including Sign in with Apple, FindStitch accounts, FindStitch Points, the chart store, chart downloads, support links, Apple in-app purchases, and Apple-provided App Store reports.
2.Information stored on your device
FindStitch stores app data on your device so that you can continue working with your patterns. This may include:
- PDFs, compatible chart files, project names, source file information, and local project records.
- Detected chart, merged chart, symbol, thread, progress, custom color, manual correction, and display data.
- FindStitch backup files that you choose to export or import.
- App preferences, temporary files, and similar local app data.
- Sign-in session information stored securely on your device when you sign in.
FindStitch does not upload this local project data to FindStitch servers as part of ordinary app use. The data remains on your device until you delete it, delete the app, replace it through a backup restore, or export it yourself through a backup file. Depending on your iOS and iCloud backup settings, local app data may also be included in device backups or iCloud backups controlled by Apple. Backup files may contain your projects, imported files, progress, and custom thread colors, so you should store and share them carefully.
3.PDFs and imported content
When you import a PDF into FindStitch, the app reads and analyzes that PDF on your device. FindStitch does not upload user-imported PDFs to FindStitch servers.
When you import a compatible chart file, the app opens and checks that file on your device and stores it as a local FindStitch project.
If you contact support and voluntarily attach files, screenshots, logs, or other content to your support message, we may receive and use that information to respond to your request.
4.FindStitch account information
You may use Sign in with Apple to create or access a FindStitch account for store purchases, FindStitch Points, point history, and purchased chart downloads.
When you sign in, we receive and process information needed to verify your Apple sign-in and maintain your FindStitch account, such as:
- Information needed for Sign in with Apple.
- A FindStitch account record.
- Information used to associate Apple in-app purchases with the correct FindStitch account.
- Sign-in records, including when they are created, expire, or are ended.
- Account creation, last activity, and deletion dates.
- Your point balance and point-history entries.
- Purchased chart access associated with your FindStitch account.
FindStitch does not request your name or email address through Sign in with Apple in the current app flow. If you email support, we will receive the email address and message content that you choose to send.
5.Purchases, FindStitch Points, and chart-store data
FindStitch uses Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple processes the payment. FindStitch receives and processes purchase-related information needed to deliver the purchased digital content or access, match purchases to your account, recover unfinished purchases, and handle refunds.
FindStitch does not receive or store your full payment-card information from Apple.
For FindStitch Points and chart-store purchases, we may process:
- Apple in-app purchase, product, purchase confirmation, refund, and reversal information.
- FindStitch point packages, point balances, point-history entries, and chart-store purchase records.
- Chart titles, prices, purchased chart access, download records, and store browsing information needed to display, purchase, and download charts.
FindStitch Points and purchased chart access are tied to your FindStitch account and are not stored as Apple account records by FindStitch. Apple may separately retain Apple purchase records under Apple's own policies.
6.Service logs and online services
FindStitch uses service providers to host and protect FindStitch online services, chart-store content, account records, downloads, and administrative tools.
These providers and FindStitch may process service logs for security, abuse prevention, reliability, error investigation, and support. This may include IP address, time of use, app or device information, error information, security events, and similar information.
We do not use service logs for advertising tracking.
7.Apple-provided reports
Apple may provide developers with aggregated app analytics, sales and trends reports, in-app purchase reports, and crash reports. Depending on your device and Apple privacy settings, crash reports may include information about a crash.
We may use Apple-provided aggregated analytics, sales and in-app purchase reports, and crash reports to understand distribution, purchases, crashes, reliability, and app performance. We do not use this information for advertising tracking.
8.No third-party advertising or analytics tools
FindStitch does not include third-party advertising tools or third-party analytics tools in the current iOS app. The app may rely on third-party components needed for app functionality, but they are not used to track you for advertising.
9.How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide app features, local PDF pattern tracking, chart browsing, progress tracking, backups, and related functionality.
- Create and maintain FindStitch accounts, sign-in status, points, purchase records, purchased chart access, and purchase recovery.
- Verify Sign in with Apple and Apple in-app purchases.
- Operate, protect, maintain, and improve FindStitch services.
- Respond to support requests and comply with legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, platform, and security obligations.
10.Legal bases for users in the EEA, UK, and similar regions
Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis for processing personal information, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Contract: to provide the app features, FindStitch account, sessions, Sign in with Apple flow, FindStitch Points, chart purchases, owned chart downloads, purchase recovery, and support related to those services.
- Legitimate interests: to secure, operate, maintain, and improve FindStitch; prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access; maintain service reliability; use service logs from service providers; and review Apple-provided aggregate analytics and crash reports. We use this basis only where our interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
- Legal obligations: to keep records and process information needed for tax, accounting, refunds, chargebacks, disputes, legal requests, platform compliance, and other legal obligations.
- Consent: where you voluntarily send support emails, attachments, screenshots, logs, or other optional information, or where consent is otherwise required by law. You may withdraw consent where applicable, but this will not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.
11.When information is shared
We share or process information with service providers and platform providers only as needed to operate FindStitch:
- Apple, for Sign in with Apple, Apple in-app purchases, App Store reports, sales reports, in-app purchase reports, and crash reports.
- Hosting, security, delivery, logging, and other service providers, for operating and protecting FindStitch services.
- Email and support providers, when you contact us by email or through support links.
Where service providers process personal information for FindStitch, we require them to use it only for permitted service purposes and to protect it in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law. Platform providers such as Apple may also process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate abuse or fraud, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
12.Data retention
Local project data remains on your device until you delete it, delete the app, replace it through backup restore, or export and manage it yourself. Depending on your iOS and iCloud backup settings, local app data may also be included in device backups or iCloud backups controlled by Apple.
FindStitch account, sign-in, point, purchase, purchased chart access, service log, Apple-provided report, and support records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including service operation, purchase delivery, refund handling, purchase integrity, fraud and abuse prevention, security, support, accounting, tax, dispute resolution, platform obligations, and legal compliance. Records kept by Apple or other providers may also be retained according to their settings and policies.
Support attachments are deleted or no longer used when they are no longer needed for support, security, or legal purposes.
13.Account deletion
You can delete your FindStitch account from inside the app.
Deleting your FindStitch account deletes the account data used for active FindStitch services, signs out active FindStitch sessions, and retains only the limited account records described below. It also removes access to the account's FindStitch Points balance and purchased chart access. These account-based points and purchased chart access are not recoverable after account deletion.
FindStitch also removes the Sign in with Apple identifier from active FindStitch account records. Where FindStitch holds revocable Sign in with Apple tokens or credentials associated with the deleted account, FindStitch revokes them where applicable.
Deleting your FindStitch account does not automatically delete local projects, PDFs, compatible chart files, backups, or other files already stored on your device, or copies that may exist in device backups or iCloud backups controlled by Apple. It also does not delete Apple purchase records maintained by Apple.
We may retain records that are necessary for security, fraud prevention, refund handling, purchase integrity, legal compliance, accounting, tax, dispute resolution, or platform obligations.
14.Your choices and rights
You can:
- Use the app's local project features without signing into a FindStitch account, except where account or purchase features are required.
- Delete local projects from the app.
- Export and manage backup files yourself.
- Sign out of your FindStitch account.
- Delete your FindStitch account from inside the app.
- Contact us to request help with privacy, account, or support questions.
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain personal information. To exercise rights or ask questions, contact us at [email protected].
If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
15.International transfers
FindStitch is offered globally. Information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including through Apple and other service providers. These countries may have data-protection laws different from those in your jurisdiction.
16.Security
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, including protected app data on your device, encrypted connections, sign-in protection, access controls, and provider security features. No method of protecting or sending information is completely secure.
17.Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
